Roots run deep

Northclift was built from the late 1960s into the mid-1970s, with recent sales showing build years from 1968 to 1974. It went up just north of what is now North Hills, as Raleigh grew past the beltline.

The neighborhood is almost all single-story brick ranches between about 1,200 and 1,900 sq ft on quarter- to third-acre lots. Some have walk-out lower levels on sloped lots.

Northclift's location keeps getting more valuable as North Hills grows. Renovated ranches here now sell in the $500Ks, while original homes still come up in the low $400Ks. A small townhome section along Dixon Drive offers a lower-cost way in.
