Neighborhood history

Roots run deep

Wood Valley was developed in the 1980s and early '90s, with recent sales showing build years from 1982 to 1991. It went up on wooded, roughly one-acre lots on what was then the rural northern edge of Raleigh.

Homes are mostly brick-front traditionals and transitional two-stories around 3,000–4,000 sq ft, many with bonus rooms, side-entry garages and detached workshops.

Wood Valley sits outside Raleigh city limits in unincorporated Wake County, and homes are on septic systems with public water. The neighborhood's optional HOA keeps the pool, tennis courts and community calendar going.
